I went to Maine this past weekend and got some nice pictures of the great coastal real estate there. My favorite part of the Maine shoreline is that since its so rocky, erosion isn't as much of a problem.
While in Maine, I learned an interesting fact about how property is taxed. Property taxes are higher for coastal views, no surprise there. Property taxes are also higher for homes within a close enough distance to smell or hear the water. Now that is a little overboard if you ask me.
