It's the small things - once you're settled

In the hullabaloo of choosing a new place it's easy to forget small things. Things you simply expect to have work. We moved into our new place just north of Boston. I love it. It's actually a smidge smaller than our old place, but we got rid of a big table we didn't need, and it's more open than our last home.

Small things get under my skin though. Like the leak in the bathroom vent above the door. It wasn't dripping when I came to see the place for the first time, so I had no way of knowing it was there. It should be fixed by now, but apparently the landlord company (that's right it's a company not a person) likes to take it's time. Good thing I don't mind being vocal, when I'm not happy.

The other thing that's under my skin is the one phone jack in the entire space barely holds a plug, everything is loose in the socket and needs to be secured in with tape. As a DSL user I need the phone jack to run my internet, and my house phone. Currently I can have one or the other, not both... Guess which I'm running now? I think this is a Verizon thing to fix though, not an apartment complex. Read about my tale of internet woe at Telecom Rebirth.
